Victory Park Plaza gets "reel" with outdoor film fest
The Get Reel Summer Movie Series has arrived at Victory Park to mark the beginning of the hottest season of the year.
Movie fans can cool off to some of Hollywood’s recent blockbusters for free when the giant outdoor screens in Victory Park Plaza light up at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday night through July 1.
This years’ line-up offers family friendly hits like Kung Fu Panda on June 10, Iron Man on June 17, Shrek The Third on June 24, and Madagascar 2 on July 1.
The movies will be shown on a 31-foot-by-53-foot super screen made up of four smaller screens with HD resolution. The Plaza’s high fidelity sound system and a theatrical lighting system will help create the best possible movie viewing under the stars.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to make a comfortable seat. Guests can bring their own popcorn and snacks, but alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Visitors can park on the surface lots and Victory Tower Garage around the plaza free for the first two hours. Garage access is located on Victory Avenue or Museum Way.
