Biography
Adina Cicort is a visual artist with a multicultural personality living in the United States. Born in 1978 in Bucharest Romania and inspired by her mother, a talented self thought artist, she expressed an interest in arts and culture from an early age. Traveling in the Romanian country side from the Black Sea Coast to the Carpathian Mountains, discovered her true calling: to create. She defined her artistic vision under the influence of a famous Romanian artist Daniel P. Ionescu and other European artists and continued her art journey and education in the United States. Although she paints from the age of three, years later, living in America, she found the right moment and place to dedicate her life entirely to ART. A high spirituality is revealed in subjects such as: history of civilizations and religions, symbolism, nature, countries, architecture, rituals and traditions. Abstract and folk art styles and mediums such as oil and acrylic are her favorites.
Artist's Statement
"I believe in the power of art as a therapy and a form of communication and think the existence is a journey trough the power of mind, into a universe of lights, colors, sounds and forms. The Art creates the big puzzle.
My artworks are the expression of my feelings, memories and genetic code inherited from my ancestors. They were simple people from the plaines of Walachia and the mountains of Transylvania and Moldavia, for whom art was a lifestyle, a joy and a celebration of God and living."
