CHIC from Barcelona: delightful Catalonia cuisine
It’s cool. It’s hip. It’s CHIC!
That is CHIC as in CHICken, as in CHIC of Barcelona — described as the best chicken in town by local diners. The Spanish-style restaurant stands out in the Preston Forest Square shopping center with a distinctive black awning and a one-of-a-kind mosaic patio wall designed by Julie Richey, local mosaic artist.
Chic’s menu is also a stand out, with Catalonian dishes and desserts — everything from paella to sweet mel i mató. (Catalonia is the Spanish region that contains the city of Barcelona. In addition to speaking Spanish, most also speak the sing-song Catalan language.)
The highlight on the menu is CHIC’s signature dish, Tony Botella’s Rotisserie Chicken — a juicy roasted half chicken (breast and thigh) rubbed in a savory secret seasoning and served with sweet roasted apples.
CHIC also boast a tasty tapas menu full of flavorful appetizers. The pa amb tomàque is the most traditional Catalan appetizer on the menu — a simple dish of bread slices rubbed with tomato, salt, pepper and virgin olive oil. It tastes great on its own, toasted with manchego cheese or topped with one of the other tapas offerings.
CHIC continually offers new tapas creations, like piquillos con seta (a mixture of mushrooms and soft and sweet red peppers tossed in a seasoned virgin olive oil).
Under CHIC’s black patio cover, patrons can dine on outdoor tables summer or winter. Inside, guest will discover a bright, modern European space with a large curved wall covered in plates — each decorated by special patrons and friends. The restaurant also hosts a beautiful bar setting and a 65-person banquet room for reserved parties.
Saturday afternoons are the best option for first-time visitors who want to take in the ambience without a large crowd around. Those who want to mix, mingle and chitchat will find the best and biggest crowds on Saturday nights. Either way, it makes good sense to call in a reservation at (972) 239-CHIC.

Owner and founder, Rafa Vilaclara opened CHIC in 2006, after opening his first restaurant in Barcelona to rave reviews. But, still looking for an adventure, he and his family decided to try a move to India. However, after visiting some friends in Dallas, the Vilaclaras liked the area so much they changed their plans and brought a little bit of Catalonia to North Texas.
