Although not known as the barbecue capital of Texas, the Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum is doing its part to keep the city firmly on the BBQ map. Founded in 1888, Dallas Zoo is the oldest and largest zoo in Texas and one of the largest in the country. Klyde Warren Park is a public and private park that houses sculptures, flora and endless Zen. It stretches across a stretch of the Woodall Rodgers Freeway that connects downtown with the Uptown neighborhood and is possibly the ultimate urban green space.
French meets Texan, but it's also dominated by a concept menu called Kitchen by Matt McCallister, which serves a seasonal menu. The menu showcases upscale Texas cuisine and offers Wagyu ribs - eye steak marinated in coffee and brown sugar. Side dishes include grass - fed loin, fillet of beef, pork ribs and a selection of appetizers such as chicken and pork chops. Desserts are the brainchild of Maggie Huff, co-owner and chef at the restaurant and executive chef at the Dallas Zoo.
Run by the Los Angeles restaurant group, which owns the popular Houston chain, R & D Kitchen delivers the highest level of cuisine and service you might expect. This upscale barbecue restaurant is the product of the renowned Pappas Restaurants of Houston, the parent company of the well-known and popular Texas barbecue chain.
In the heart of downtown Dallas, just blocks from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Ellie's offers a Napa-inspired menu, with owners Craig and Kathryn Hall well-known wine lovers who own Hall's wines in Napa Valley. They also cook tacos, and it's really hard to find a better combination.
If you're looking for a fun place to combine a cool terrace with spicy Tex-Mex, this is it. Trompo tacos are one of the most famous Mexican destinations in Dallas, with red and green sauces that will delight your taste buds (don't go without trying a plate of their mariachi velvet taco). This Dallas institution is still known for its original brisket tacos, topped with grilled onions, coriander and a spicy salsa verde sauce. Mias Tex - a - Tex is an integral part of every meal in Dallas, but there is no better place to help yourself than downtown Dallas.
Be sure to get in early to get in -- this mom -- and pop restaurant doesn't take reservations, so don't miss out from 6 p.m. Enjoy a meal at Rattlesnake Bar when you can't get a table at one of Dallas's most popular bars and restaurants. If Rodeo Goat doesn't stop you with fries, cheese, bacon and jalapenos, you'll be glad your money was well spent. The bread pudding with an excellent whiskey sauce goes perfectly with hot dogs and chicken wings.

The Texas Ale Project is located in the Dallas Design District, where a free brewery tour is held every first Saturday of the month, where you can sample the brewery's beers in the tasting room. The restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 2 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm.
As with many restaurants in Dallas, chic locals pack both indoor and outdoor dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. French bistro is particularly good for brunch, but every meal of the day is exceptional at Boulevardier, from baked macs to cheese and everything.
